The Renaissance was a cultural movement developed from the 15th to the 17th century. It started in Italy at the end of the Middle Ages and later spread to the rest of Europe.

The texture, in Renaissance music , describes the melodic and harmonic relationships and the density of simultaneous diferent musical components. The most important textures are Monophonic, Contrapunctual and Homophonic.
| It is the simplest texture. There is no harmony and there is only one line of tune. |
| It is a texture where the lines of music move at the same time. |
| It is the more complex texture. There is more than one tune played at the same tune. |
