Hi, we are Anne adn Shy-Ann and we're both 14 years old. We live in Den Bosch, in the Netherlands. We're gonna tell you something about our tests!

How do we learn for an English test?
There are two sorts of English tests; grammar and vocabulary. With grammar test we use the book and our notes. We do some exercises to practice. Mostly we only have to apply. With vocabulary test we use a program on the internet to practice. We enter the words of our wordlist with the translation. Usually, it takes about an hour to learn. For a vocabulary test mostly a little bit longer.

This how we sit with a test
How does the test work? When we have the test, our tables are separated. Normally we sit in pairs. The teacher hands out the answer sheets and the tests with the exercises. We are allowed to have only one pen on our table. During the test we have to be very quiet until everybody has finished. Usually we have one period, 50 minutes, to finish the test. Those 50 minutes are enough.

How do the grades work? A teacher has two weeks to check the tests, but most of the time they finish before that. The best grade you can get is a ten. The lowest is a one. If you a 5.5 or higher, you have a sufficient. If you have lower than a 5.5 you have an insufficient. Our average of our grades comes on our report. Which we get three times a year.

 No cheating!
What happens when we cheat? When we cheat, or when we let someone cheat, the detentions are different. Some teachers give us an one, some teachers give a point deduction and some teachers don’t let us finish our test. Fortunately, many teachers don’t see it when we cheat! Maybe because we have smart cheating-methods, but maybe it’s just because teachers aren’t that smart!
