The Finnish students worked with a project called YIMBY before Christmas. This project involved all the nineth graders, which means students at the age of 15-16. We got over 50 different projects and we have picked three to represent our school in Iseo and those will be
|
presented there. You can read two other examples in the links below.
This was an integrated project which was done during the English lessons and biology lessons during a three-week-period. The students spent 7 lessons (7X45 min) per week working on this project.

The text about Globe hope is written by Julia Nuotio and Julianna Alanne. The YIMBY-text about littering is written by Vivi Rintanen and Markus Teurokoski.
The pairs could write about anything which had to do with an environmental problem that was local (=in my backyard). The idea was to find out if we can affect environmental issues by our own choises and actions.
