Live online sessions audio-video are now available for our visitors !
|
The Internet access must be at the level of ISDN at least. You need a loudspeaker(s) and a microphone to be able to listen and to speak. If you want to have a full advantage of a live online session you will need a web cam too. As an eJournal LIVE guest (visitor) you can start using live online sessions in the easiest possible way !
1. First click on Enter editor office and log in using the user name and the password given to you by the administrator. 2. Hit the Main menu button from the left menu. 3. Click on the Video Conference button (scroll down – it is the lowermost button of the navigation bar left below). Clicking on the button Video Conference will bring you to the booking page of the video conference room.
Installing application easy steps: Different announcements windows will follow (depending on your browser):
o Firefox: Open with Java (TM) Web Start Launcher…) - please OK that !
o Internet Explorer (IE): Name: …FilesJavajre1.6.0_03binjavaws.exe Publisher: Sun Microsystems, Inc. – please Allow that !
4. The window Java Starting is shown and there is an automated and safe process that brings you into the live online room. 5. There is already your login name and the button Login just in the middle of the page. Now you can enter and join the live online session by clicking on the button Login.
NOTE ! If Java was not installed yet, there is an automated process of installing. When asked please accept the process. There is NO risk of viruses ! - in 30 – 40 sec. the window of the live online room (LiOn) opens and there is the announcement Connecting to Server. - soon after that you will see your login name left below and possibly other names of logged-in persons
Be sure to check the Firewall settings ! If you use a computer of a network, for example of a school, it is possible that the firewall settings of the network prevent you from getting in. Then you have to be in contact with the network administrator, or some other person in charge, who can help you in this matter.
When connected to the live online room: When the session is started you need to push the Ctrl button to speak. Only one is speaking at a time. You can adjust the volume of your voice and the sound of your loudspeaker by changing the adjuster. The microphone and the loudspeaker icons are in the left lowermost corner of the conference room. If a web cam was connected and available in your computer before the live session, the video window appears when you press on Ctrl button. The speaker can drag by mouse the video window to any place on the screen.
Do NOT block the microphone ! When you press on the Ctrl button, there is a small blue cloud in front of your name. If there are more participants pressing concurrently, the number inside the blue cloud shows in which order they can speak. If you stop pressing you lose your turn. It is also possible to take your turn in conversation by clicking on the microphone icon on the left corner below. Then it often happens that the user does not remember to press the icon again after finishing his talk so that the microphone stays blocked from other users. If the participans does not notice it, the moderator has to log him out of the session. Of course, the participant can log in again.
