"Pan Tadeusz" is a well-known book written in verse by Polish romantic genius - Adam Mickiewicz. Recently we  had a chance to see the film adaptation. The music  was written by Wojciech Kilar. The film stars splendid actors: Boguslaw Linda as Jacek Soplica, Danil Olbrychski as Gerwazy, Grazyna Szapolowska as Telimena and the most important figures: Michael Zebrowski as Tadeusz as well as Alicja Bachleda-Curus as Zosia.
The content of film is based on a story of two antagonized families. The director Andrzej Wajda presents the hopes concerning the conquest of the Russian invader and the posibility of regainig independence. A young man from Soplicowo is the title hero who falls in love with a young heroine -Zosia. He is also seduced by Zosia's older carer - Telimena.
The fundamental figure in this film is Jacek Soplica, Tadeusz's father, who killed Stolinik. Dressed as priest Robak he prepares himself in Soplicowo for an armed rise against the Russian invader.
The music, picture and scenography, as well as the costumes created an usual vison of the world.
I recommend this film to all, both those who have read the book and those who have not had  the opportunity to read it.
