Mirkka and Masa series

These books are typical Finnish teenage literature. They tell about friendship, problems between friends and their adventures. Also love plays quite an important role in these novels. The central characters are Mirkka and her sister Masa. Masa is a girl but really wants to be a boy. There are also their friends Tauski and Niko.

When we were young we liked these books because they were funny and compelling reading. The language was colloquial rather than formal. That's why they weren't boring or tiresome. Tuija Lehtinen can really describe young people's life in a realistic fashion. We recommend these books to all young people who like interesting books.
