First I watched Kummelin Kultakuume when I was a child and I liked it even then. A couple of years ago I found the movie again. I noticed that Kummelin Kultakuume just got better every time I watched it.

Kummelin Kultakuume is a typical Finnish movie: it’s been done with a really low budget like almost every film in Finland. Kummelin Kultakuume is full of good, Finnish humour and that’s why it’s hard for foreigners to understand it, because the humour is so specially strange and ironic! The characters are hilarious – they make fun of Finnish manners and typical ways of thinking, revealing what rednecks we Finns really are.
