This is for you, new editors!
|
Log in the Editor's office
Log in the editorial office using your username and password. Choose Articles editing from the left hand menu, and then click on Create a new article on the right. A new empty page will open with the text Edit article on top. This where you build your article.
Meta info and editors
1. When you start writing your article, you always first complete the Meta information of your article (it will show in the eJournal contents list). Give your article a Title and a short Description. Save. (It's a common mistake to paste the whole text in the description box.)
|
 |
| Pictures add colour and interest. See you soon in the Editor's office. |
|
2. As you can see, the programme automatically adds the Editor's name but you can add more names if you are co-editing an article with a classmate for example. First click on Add, and then select the other name(s) from the list and click on Add.
Article building blocks
3. Now you can start building the article, that is what the readers will see on the actual page. See the Add new section menu at the bottom of the page. That's where you choose the article building blocks.
The article building blocks include - header - paragraph (basic) - paragraph (columned) - table - link

Actual page
4. Select the Header first and click Add. Write the headline you want. You can change the font size and colour or underline the header.
5. The next step is to write some Text. Choose Paragraph (basic or columned) and click on Add.
|
6. Here you can write or paste some text in the opening text box. Change the font size if you like. This is size 3. Choose colour from the Colour selector.
7. Pictures bring colour and interest. Follow the Red green icon to insert a Picture from your folder in the
|
Medialibrary and then simply click on the picture you want. It's moved to your article. You can write a Caption under the picture, too.
8. Important - always remember to Save - or your work will be lost when you leave the building block you're working on.

Edit, Save, View and Publish

9. Let's also add a Link. Select Link in the Add new section menu.
10. When ready and saved, select Articles editing in the left-hand menu. The programme takes you to the Unpublished articles list. Choose your Test article and click
|
on View to view your article as it'll appear to the readers.
11. If you wish to make further changes, click on Edit.
12. When everything is OK, click on Publish to send the Chief editors a message of your waiting article.
