Phua Chu Kang - a local series

One of the local TV series of Singapore is Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd. It is very popular in Singapore, mostly all Singaporeans watch this programme, which is aired every Tuesday night.
It is a family kind of serial. The main characters of this serial is Phua Chu Kang, a contractor who is very funny and thinks he is the best contractor in Singapore, Phua Chu Kang’s wife, Rosie loves to play mahjong (a board game that is similar to chess) and she is a spendthrift, Phua Chu Kang’s brother, Chu is Phua Chu Kang’s architect

and is a bit of a sissy and Phua Chu Kang’s sister-in-law, Margaret is street wise and so called the only sane one in the family. Not forgetting Phua Chu Kang’s two helpers, they are very lazy and not at all interested in their work all they think about is food.
I like watching this serial because it is very hilarious. It implies mostly on what happens in all typical Singaporean homes. A local Singaporean actor, Gurmit Singh, plays the role Phua Chu Kang.
