CLASS REUNION IN 2026

| It is a Saturday evening in 2026 and we, the second class of Heinävesi upper secondary school in 2004, are getting together in a local restaurant. We have organized a class reunion, because we want to see the sights of our old home town and of course spend a great time with the old classmates. |

|
Heinävesi was a little village when we were here at school but now, over 20 years later, the village has become a big, wonderful city. In the olden days there were only two grocery stores, a little hospital and a couple of schools. Now the small stores have become enormous malls where you can buy everything that you want. The former hospital has expanded and now it is one of the biggest hospitals in Finland.

Of course more people means that more schools are needed. In fact, there is even a high school in Timonmäki where only twenty or thirty inhabitants lived before. The most famous things in Heinävesi are still the monastery of Valamo, the convent of Lintula and the pottery of Kermansavi. Who would have guessed this town would have developed so much during these twenty years. It is incredible!

Luckily we have a lot of time to reminisce and talk about the future. We also eat and drink well, and finally we search for the Christmas lights, which we bought in 2004, in the attic of our school and hang them around our old, lovely classroom.
