The aim of this report is to assess the suitability of Rybnik as a place where peolpe can spend a fantastic time. Rybnik is situated in the south of Poland near the Beskida Mountains and many other places worth visiting, for example Cracow which is Poland's former capital or Wieliczka Salt Mine. Thus, such a location makes the town an excellent starting point for numerous trips. However, if you decide to stay in Rybnik you will not regret the decision. On the outskirts there is Rybnik Lake where people can enjoy themselves.

Rybnik Lake covers quite a large area a part of which includes a campsite and a hotel. In the area belonging to the campsite which is called 'The Anchor' there are five quest houses. You can swim in a canoe, sail a boat and try some other water sports such as, for example, windsurfing. Young people and teenagers like going to 'The Anchor' on holiday and at weekends, they have parties and a good time there.

To older people Rybnik Lake offers a quieter place with a hotel where they can relax, ride a horse, go to a swimming pool and play tennis. The peace and quiet of the place make them forget about their trouble at work. Here they can enjoy themselves admiring wonderful views.

The facilities at Rybnik Lake are good and there are many activities organised both for adults and teenagers such as family picnics, concerts or various competitions. However, the most popular event takes place every June and is a part of a school tradition - it is a raft race. It is a particular event as the rafts are made of empty plastic bottles that students from IV lyceum collect during a school year. In the middle of June 2 huge rafts (each consisting of about 100 bottles) are built and  a competition is organised at the lake. Each class chooses 2 representative teams (male and female ones) and they race to win The School Cup. As a sporting event with an ecological dimension the race is always present in the local media.

To conclude, Rybnik Lake offers excellent facilities, a wide range of activities and attractions and so the place is thoroughly recommended for a visit.
