 Greek flag
You can see the Greek flag. Our flag is Blue and White. These two colours symbolize the blue of the Greek sea and sky and the whiteness of the Greek sea waves. The number of the lines on the Greek flag is based on the number of the syllables in the Greek phrase:“E-le-uthe-ri-a (blue lines) H- Tha-na-tos (white lines)” that means “Freedom or Death”. "Freedom or Death” was the motto during the years of the Hellenic Revolution against the Ottoman Empire in 1821 The Greek Square Cross that rests on the upper left-side of the flag demonstrates the respect the Greek people have for their religion. Christianity is still the dominant religion among Greeks.
