My visit to the Netherlands-Pius X

Thomas Alva Edison said: “If we did all the things we were capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”

How true it is. I hadn’t expected my trip to the Netherlands to be so amazing, but yes it was. I had expected a hard time but instead it was two weeks of non-stop enjoyment and fun.

When I touched the Netherlands with a group of teachers and students from school, the first thing I experienced was the different climate. It was cool with an adequate amount of sunshine and beautiful weather with blue skies, and hardly any clouds. It was the best climate I had ever experienced. I stayed with a host called Mike Schilders and his family. They treated me so well that I felt like one of the family. In the beginning I was a bit shy but, before I knew it I felt at home.

Throughout the two weeks I learnt a lot from the interesting Dutch students and their schools. I visited the Pius X College at Bladel. I noticed that there was more emphasis laid on technology and cleanliness, which I appreciated a lot. I also visited an amusement park in Belgium Where I enjoyed myself on the roller coasters and all the other various ridoes. We also visted Amsterdam. But sadly after all that enjoyment we had to attend class at school but we managed anyway. We also managed to pick up quite a few words in different languages such as Latin and Dutch. We gained a lot of Knowledge from the classes. We also visited the Den Bosch and ate a Bosch Ball that was basically a baseball sized dessert. We also went hunting for an Indian Restaurant and finally found one where we pigged out. W also visited a physics university which had a lot of sports cars. It was a lot of fun. We even saw Robots playing football and also many other technological and architectural wonders. We even participated in sports sessions of Squash. I did quite well on the whole; at least that’s what I feel. I also spent some time with my family and I felt they were very nice and good people to be with. We had a great time together.

The day arrived when we would be departing from the Netherlands. I am grateful to my school for giving me this opportunity. All I can just say is that I had the time of my life.
