Interaction between Indian and Finnish students at Paaskytien Koulu
|
Out of my many visits to Annika's English class there was this special one which was on the 6th of May where I was able to attend one of her classes at Paaskytien Koulo along with four students from India and they were Akshay Patel, Sayeed Yafai, Aman Patel and Jibrayel Bhatti. The class was interesting as the students of Annika's class (boys and girls) interacted with the four boys from St. Peter's School, Panchgani, India.
All the students in the class were introduced in a formal manner and then they were divided into two groups of ten students each and played two very interesting games. Intially Annika and I helped the students who did not know the game and later the students got so engrossed in the game that we felt as though we were invisible to them. The first game was like scrabble which made them think and use words in the proper manner and the second game was what they enjoyed the most, it was a board game played with a dice and it had questions asked at every square of the board. Depending on which square on the board you happened to land on, which is according to the number displayed on your dice you were asked questions that were personal in nature and very interesting, eg: what was the wildest dream that you had? what do you generally do after school?, etc. The boys from St. Peter's felt that it was something like truth and dare. The session ended with the bell and the time flew so fast that no one had realised that they played for an hour. The students of the class enjoyed it to the fullest and the photographs are shown below.
