The Agidel (or the Belaya in the Russian language)– main river in our region Bashkortostan. In translation from the Bashkirian language ”Agidel”  means “White river”, but sometimes it seems of a green colour.
In some areas near Ufa huge chemical, petrochemical and other factories are created along the river.
Now there live about 600 000 people. There are serious deficiencies in water.
All this created difficult ecological situation in South Bashkortostan.
Last year Umaguzinskii water-engineering system was built, therefore some lands of the national park “Bashkortostan” were flooded, the populations of some rare animals and plants were reduced.
Possibly water quality in the Agidel will get worse too.
Though there are programmes to help the situation and our government and people take serious steps to improve it.

You can see the pictures of the Agidel river in the comments.
