 Nokia HQ in Espoo
Nokia is a multinational corporation but it was founded in Finland in 1865 and it's HQ are in Espoo, Finland. Nokia is best known for it's cell phones even though it also makes other telecommunication products. Today Nokia is the world's largest mobile phone producer with a market share of 39% and it also produces the most cameras because almost every cell phone model has one in it.

| 1960 - An electronics division is founded on Suomen Kaapelitehdas (Finland's Cable factory). |
1967 - Suomen Kumitehdas (Finland's Plastic factory), Nokian Osakeyhtiö (Nokia's Share company) and Suomen Kaapelitehdas merge into Nokia. |
1981 - World's first international mobile phone network (NMT) is founded for Northren Europe. |
| 1987 - The first "brick"-styled mobile phone Mobira Cityman is released. |
1991 - World's first GSM-mobile phone is ready to production and the first GSM-phone call is called. |
1993 - Nokia 1011, the first digital GSM-cell phone (which fits in your pocket) is released. |

2nd November 2005 - Nokia Nseries is released (and new phones are still released regularly). |
2006 - Nokia's revenue (41,1 billion euros) exceeded Finland's expenses for 2007 (40,5). |
