Finland's government has decided a new car tax innovation which comes into effect in the beginning of the year 2008. Car tax depends on car's price and CO2 consumption. Tax per cent grows if car consumes over 9,4 liters petrol or over 8,5 liters diesel oil or over 220 grams CO2/km. The main point in new car tax innovation is favour environmentally friendly vehicles so low consuming cars are cheaper to buy than previously and they are cheaper to use because they don't consume so much petrol than big motored cars. For example Toyota Prius is going to be over 7700 euros cheaper than before and Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren's price is going to be nearly 180000 euros more expensive!! If you are going to buy a big and expensive car you should do it now. But if you want a small diesel car and you're going to buy it still in the year 2007 you are a fool because if you wait few weeks you could have it even thousands of euros lower price!! Government supposes that Finnish people wants to buy more diesel cars and in any case buy more new cars.
