EurecaEureca Project
This Project started one year ago, when it has been approved by the Marche’s Scholastic Bureau and I got involved as the school where I teach is part of it. This project consists in: - Laboratory for students - Lessons for teachers of ‘my school’ and teachers of Region Marche schools. This Project was a success, and this year we also had: - Laboratory for students called " Maths Club": What is the “Maths Club”? The aim of the “Maths Club ” is making children enjoy with Maths. They play and use a didactic laboratory once a week for two hours from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p. m. Only children of 10 years old can be part of it. Teachers suggest these activities to their pupils: - Questions to answer - Problem to solve together - Logic games - Strategic games
- Teachers use Probelm Solving and Cooperative Learning methodologies. - Four lessons are addressed to the teachers of ‘my school’ and the teachers of Region Marche’s schools which are part of our network called " EurecaEureca" (26 schools belong to the network). Lessons are run by Giorgio Bolondi, one of the most important Professor at the University of Bologna who works with Bruno D'Amore in NRD (Nucleo di Ricerca in Didattica della Matematica). - Scientific Café: University of Bologna's tutors suggest to the public in a café some strategic and logic games. - An important event in Recanati's square with maths games: Maths Club's students invite the public to play with their games on Recanati's square in May 20th – 24th 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. In summer our materials will be in Civitanova Marche for another big event.
