Publishing multimedia in eJournals
Please note that you need to upload PHOTOS / VIDEOS first to eJournal only then you can add it to your articles. Click on the image to see it in a bigger size.
FIRST STEP: After you login, click on MAIN MENU / MEDIA LIBRARY. [only a Chief editor can create a folder, by clicking on the option at the left hand side. Give the folder a name.
Once the folder is created you need to open the folder to open it and upload the photos / videos only in a particular folder. You can create folders within folders. Eg: MEDIA LIBRARY / FINLAND/ TEACHER FOLDER/TEACHER JUHANA. Later you should not change the folder of those media files you use in some eJournal article, because if you change the URL of the media object, it is no more correctly linked to the article but you have to correct the link in the article.
Note: Make sure to give proper / descriptive name to photos. Eg: Maria playing football or Maria close up or Maria with John etc.
How to upload?
You need not know anything about file transfer protocol (FTP) software when uploading digital material into the media library of eJournal. After clicking on MAIN MENU/MEDIA LIBRARY you have the options UPLOAD FILE(S)/UPLOAD VIDEO/CREATE FOLDER. If you start uploading photos, for example, click on UPLOAD FILE(S).
Five files can be uploaded at a time. [the process here is similar to attaching photos to an email].
Uploading video
ONE video clip can be uploaded at a time. Same process. Upload videos in formats such as.wmv, avi, mpg etc.into MEDIA LIBRARY via UPLOAD VIDEO as they need conversion.
NB! If you have a video in Flash (.flv) don’t try to upload it into MEDIA LIBRARY via UPLOAD VIDEO, as it does not need any conversion into Flash. Instead, upload it using UPLOAD FILE(S). Later, when embedding video into an article you can use VIDEO tool of EDIT ARTICLE in any case.
