As you know we have moved to Manipur recently, to help in the process of Borni School development. We are both committed and sincerely trying our level best to see the school grow.
On 7th April at 5 AM Joseph started his journey from Imphal to Pangantabi village to attend the teachers meeting which was held at Borni School. He started early as he had to jump in the first bus thus managed to be there on time. It was a wonderful morning:) he had opportunity to meet few students and then proceeded with the programme which ended at 3 PM, then he jumped in the bus, by 6 he was in Imphal city reached home around 7Pm. Interestingly, he said he was tied and happy..There is no joy better than this. Honestly the kids at Borni School charming...and the teachers have passion to teacher. Calmly we both had time to inculcate our vision to new teachers.  The school had invited 11 teachers and 5 teachers showed up for interview. New session starts on 18th April 2011. It was a successful meeting. We look forward to work together with a common purpose.

Previously school was in need of teachers as few of them left the school due to less payment last year. The school was unable to increase teachers’ salaries due to limited budget for the year ended 2009-11. For the year 2011-12, we have managed to employ 4 new teachers on a very low cost. Together with the old teachers, that make 8 teachers will be working as teaching staff and 2 supporting staff. It is a good team though, for Joseph, he will be teaching as well as taking the role of administrator on voluntary basis as he cannot be employed as per Government rule. He will be teaching free computer class to women and 10th class students from Pangantabi only as a service to the community. The parents are very happy to have him this year. Parents have been informed about the classes, some are willing pay little amount for their children to attend computer classes. They insisted, though Joseph did not agree with the idea. He purpose is clear ‘ to empower the community and build the capacity of women’ who will inspire their children to save Manipur as their motherland. He feels there is need of technical youth in Pangantabi GLOBALLY

To sustain this, we plan to increase the number of pigs to sustain Borni School revenue to cover the cost of running the school. The pig farm will be launched next month, starting with ten pigs. Experience has shown that there is lot of profit in pig farm. From pig revenue, we had managed to support 15 orphans towards their education at Borni School, built one simple toilet, and bought office tables. Thus, we take this opportunity to thank SHIGF management and sponsors like Ludo, Annemie, Josephine, Arne, Ludo, Pentti, Nat, Natascha and Joseph who really supported the school in many ways. Credit goes to EUNEOS and Hope is Life Foundation for the support in the following areas: 1. Administration cost- One computer and Printer was installed for computer classes 2. Care and Support for 15 Orphans who are still attending school at Borni 3. Sustainable Development activities-Pig farm and Toilet project 4. Eco School- four Bamboo classroom were built On behalf of School and SHIGF, again thank you Joseph Nshimbani SHIGF and Borni Managing Trustee

Bilashini addressing the teachers after interview We are paying senior teacher max Rs. 2000 per month. Luckily the new teachers have agreed with the school salary scheme this year, even though some are demanding more which includes transport as they came from far villages. Nevertheless, we have taken this into consideration and convinced them based on the school budget this year. They are happy with Rs. 2000 per month depending on their qualifications. We have consulted with other schools in the area; they are paying almost the same. Therefore, we have to maintain the same.
