KRASIEJOW TRIASSIC formation
One of the most important discoveries of last few years In natura historyk of
Opole region is the paleontological site In Krasiejow. The discovered fossils of
Triassic dinosaurs are dated over 225 million years back and are wellpreserved.
As far as the variety and abundance is concerned, there are only
a few places like that in Europe.

There are the sleketons of metoposauruses- large amphibians up to 2 m long
and fitosauruses exceeding 3 m. The scientist discovered the jaws and sacral
vertebrae of a primitive dinosaur called Silesaurus opolensis.
