Cogotas dam in September
The IU (United Left Party) group in the Town Hall made a proposal to save water
The spokesman from IU explained that the aim of the proposal was making citizens aware of the necessity of saving water when the dams have it.
According to research, each citizen uses 214 litres water a day: 126 in the shower, 48 from the tap and 40 in the toilet. The amount of water could be reduced to 150 litres with the use of a special kit, a water saving device. The kit would cost around 47 euros.
The proposed measures in the family consumption will save, at least two square hectometres water, the amount of water for four months.
These measures include: using saving devices for taps, showers and toilets and less water pressure.
On the other hand, rain water use should be promoted, as well as, gardens with autonomous plants to be watered with recycled water and a strict watering control.
The Town Hall has decided to study the proposal from one of the parties in the opposition.
