NEW SOLUTIONS FOR THE PROBLEM OF WATER IN ÁVILA AND CASTILLA Y LEÓN
In our province, the wells of the Soto park have started to cover the water supply. The water from Becerril, Serones and Fuentes Claras is also being used.
It has begun to rain, however, there are still problems with drought.
In Castilla y León the autonomous government has decided to cooperate with the Environmental Ministry to solve the problems of pollution in the Arenales aquifer, which, according to Greenpeace, is overexplotoited. This aquifer is one of the biggest in our Peninsula, and could be important trying to find good solutions.
Carlos Fernández Carriedo, the environmental councilor from Greenpeace, has complained about the water quality in Spanish rivers and subterranean streams, which contains high levels of arsenic.
He has also mentionated the problem of the polluted water, due to the industrial rubbish , and the necessity of purifying it.
